Dog Day Afternoon at Tacoma Farmers Market
What a Dog Day afternoon! An adoption event put on by the Dugan Foundation. We were just above the farmers market in downtown Tacoma.
There were so many supportive vendors. Along with Uneek Treats, Wag was there, Urban Dogs, Good Citizen Canine, Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital, Standing Stones Photography, The Sitters, Tacoma Animal Control and others all to support the shelters who are doing the hard work.
The hard work is caring for and getting the 60 sum dogs a week that need to be rescued, placed in good homes. It is too much to comprehend that any animal needs a home. What is so amazing, are the people who are devoted to caring for and making these animals lives better.
Our Uneek rescue of the day is Violet. She is 12 years old and a wonderful girl. Her owners were unable to continue care and now she is in need of a new family to take care of her. She is a wonderful girl with a soft, kind and a young personality. Violet loved Uneek Treats and Uneek loved Violet!
Huck and his mom were at the event checking out what is going on and turning heads. Huck has great eyes. Both are different and definitely make him a Uneek dog.
Gigi, resident dog of Wag Pet Market in Tacoma, enjoyed supporting the event. Gigi knows how special her life is and hopes all dogs get the same experience.
Lucky is just that. One lucky girl. Her mother is the creative of Standing Stone Photography. A huge supporter of the Dugan Foundation. Carolyn and Lucky want more than anything to see all dogs get a chance at being a "lucky" too.
Uneek booth got to see all kinds of cool dogs who came by for samples and water. One of them is Marengo a mini Husky and Golden Retriever mix. Just like Violet our rescue girl, Marengo jumped right up on the table to dig into our treats.
Neville and mom Dayna were big fans of Uneek Treats. They were so much fun and Neville is a very special personality in his own right. I hope we hear from them again so he can try other flavors.
I really want to thank everyone who takes their time and devotes themselves to helping save animals. They are so important to our lives as we are to theirs. How we treat animals is how we treat life. I cannot say enough for our volunteers and shelter workers along with those who foster! Thank you and you are all Uneek to me!!!
